I was priviliged to be among the handfull of birders that started the AOL Birding Forum many years ago (1993 I believe). Leni was then and always has been since the prime mover behind this group bringing the enjoyment of cybirding to so many. I last saw her a couple of years ago here on Plum Island in Massachusetts. Although I haven't been around that much in recent years I have never forgotten our adventures together in the early days of AOL. Thanks for the memories Leni and God bless your family. :-)

I am also one of birding folks when Leni started the chat room around 15 years ago. The main reason why I kept coming back to chat room because of Leni's fierce personality. She had the energy to keep us motivated. Her host skills were excellent that keep us coming back again and again. She put a smile to my face and wrist (grin). One time I asked Leni why does she loved kestrel. She replied "Because the kestrel has fierce personality.....". Her choice of words were superb! I miss her a lot! But I understand we need to accept the loss because it is part of life, isn't it? May her passing bring us Peace, Love, and fierce birding. Whenever we see a kestrel, let's say "Hello Leni, here you go!" Peace to all!
